NEWS FROM BRIGHTON 2

Wednesday 9th April

How am I ? you really want it to know ? I'm having fun.

The word of the day : a flick ( a film)

Wednesday was a good, a very good flick.

In the morning, a corean student called Charles ( a pretty good bloke, I suppose, who wants to be kind with the teacher who can't remember corean surnames) asked Nicole, a swiss girl to become his wife. Just an exercice. But very funny.

Then we rushed to Seven sisters cliffs. 10 miles, at least, climbing cliffs. "Before the effort, the reconfort", as we say in my country : the ploughman's plate for Philippe and I and baguettes for the ladies.
Sport and sightseeing. In front, the fitty Philippe and Nadine. Behind, out of breath the grandmas Veronique and I. And seagulls as big as geese. Dangerous cows. Painted sheep. Ice-cream as big as seagulls. Corean messages made with white stones. Freezy bus stop upon the hill but with a view...

But the film (the flick) didn't end yet.

End of that beautiful day. Philippe's idea. In a pub called the Crown and the Anchor , Free session. All welcome. Let's sing folk songs. Five very very old people sitting around and singing " Rosemary and I ". Just like in a dream. In the backroom. And nearby football fans looking at Manchester-Roma eating their curry with the best Sussex beer Harvey.

The flick was excellent, absolutely gorgeous, darling.

Thursday 10th April

London's calling. I tell you later...

Great day. We met the best headmaster of the best school of England. Best teachers, best pupils. Best salaries, best results. School is business. Hope Nick S. never met such a man. Darcos would lost his job.
The man was looking at us with pity. Poor little miserable french teachers.

the word of the day : peripatetic (not very pathetic)

example : " I'm a peripatetic teacher, THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT, I'm just a supply teacher."

After that strange experience of science-fiction, we decided not to commit a collective suicid in the river Thames but to visit the Tate Modern.

Here are some photos...
